Firstly, let’s all breathe a collective sigh of relief that Tiger Woods is in stable condition and currently under the supervision of elite medical personnel at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
*PHEW*
That out of the way, let’s recap what happened.
- Tiger’s SUV – A Hyundai Genesis GV80 – jumped the curb, hit a tree, and rolled several times into the brush.
- First responders on the scene reported that Tiger was “calm and lucid” (possibly from shock) and was able to tell them his name was Tiger. This is great news as it suggests he did not suffer severe trauma to the head.
- Using an axe and pry bar, firefighters were able to clear debris around Tiger’s damaged legs and safely remove him from the car through the front windshield. Contrary to early reports, the Jaws of Life were not administered.
- The severity and specificity of the golfer’s injuries are unknown at this time, but we do know that he was in stable condition upon being taken to the hospital
More updates will follow, but the important fact remains: Tiger Woods is alive and under the supervision of medical personnel.
