Tonight the Colorado Buffaloes take on USC in Boulder aka B-town. As the NCAA tournament is on the horizon this game tonight carries a lot of weight for the 17-7 buffs. The line opened at -3.5 in favor of Colorado, which I don’t understand due to USC’s top 25 rank. -3.5 seems like a trap, but I will most likely take it because I am an idiot.

Both teams are coming off wins and it’ll be an interesting match up because of the PAC-12 tournament implications. In the last matchup between the two squads Boulder won by 10 in Los Angeles. I am interested to see the how CU guards perform against USC’s star Evan Mobley; a 7-footer and frontrunner for PAC-12 player of the year. CU’s strength is guard play and will need to lean on it to hit open shots down the stretch (as I mentioned multiple times in a previous blog post) in order to beat USC. The buff’s defense will have to protect the paint and Dallas Walton has to be a presence especially with Mobley getting to touch the ball every possession. This is a crucial game for Colorado because a W would not only help us in the conference tourney, but also add to their NCAA Tournament resume.

Prediction: CU 70 : USC 67
